DJ Booth

Festivals are all about making dreams come true, and God created DJ Contests.

Whether you’ve wanted to see a live performance of your favorite band or you’ve always hoped to be featured on an international festival’s lineup, we strive to make good changes happen.

As ambassadors of good fortune and artistic quality, we’re hosting our second edition of the DJ Contest, as a result of which the best performance will have a guaranteed spot on the AFTERHILLS 2019 lineup. We’re more than happy to announce that this year’s selection process has left us with two finalists with great potential. We can’t wait to hear them live at the festival!

The artists featured in the DJ contest are:

  • EDIP

We welcome them in the #dreamers family and wish them the best of luck!

Regardless of where you come from, we’re here to show you around! Traveling is part of the fun!

Woman in the Car

Are You from Iași?

Then leave your car at home! We encourage you to take the bike or the Festival Shuttle. It’s more eco friendly and it can be fun!

Worry not, though, we do have a larger-than-life parking, in case you come from afar or are feeling particularly lazy!

First Timer?

The Festival location is at the exit towards E85 road. Unlike the most amazing things in life, we’re pretty easy to find.

If you’ve come by bus or train, take the first tram or bus at the Railway Station and get off at the first stop. Once there, get into the Festival Shuttle and let’s have some fun.

If you’ve just gotten off the plane, take the bus no. 50, get off at the Union Square (Piața Unirii) and get into the Festival Shuttle.

Don’t Want to Miss Any Fun?

Whether you’ve come by bus, train or plane, check out the Festival Shuttle schedule and stay posted!

Festivals are amazing places to be. And, as it happens, it’s mostly impossible to think of sleeping when you’re getting ready to party like crazy. But for a complete camping experience, make sure you’re packing everything you could possibly need for that festival camping to be awesome.

Happy girl festival camping

This ranges from towels, which you can use to dry up your tent in case of a short and moody afternoon rain to dry shampoo to always look your best – you can’t afford to look like a hippie grinch in the festival photos!

In-Tents Preparations

The camping area will be open from Thursday, May 31st, 16:00 until Monday, June 4th, 09:00.

During this time, if you’re the happy owner of a Camping Pass, you’re welcome to get in and out of the camping area as many times as you please.

If you don’t have a Camping Pass, you can upgrade your Festival Pass with a Camping Pass on the spot. Otherwise, you’re not going to be allowed in the camping area, so you’re going to have to party non-stop!

We’re kidding. You can always check out the accommodation options available around you.

If you’ve got a van/RV ticket, you can enter the camping area with your vehicle. Otherwise, you’ll need to leave it in the parking until you leave the festival grounds.

Because we care about your stay here, you’ll be provided with all kinds of 21st century facilities such as showers, toilets, markets and utilities.

You’re not allowed with any kind of food from the outside. Make sure you’ve read the rules and regulations.

There’s nothing you can’t do at a festival, as long as it complies with the organizer’s rules. Don’t worry, we’re pretty cool people and we know you’re here to have fun.

People at festival

We can’t wait to see you at the festival, and here are some of this edition’s rules:

  • Kids under 14 have free access must be accompanied by their parents/legal representatives & have a written parental agreement;
  • Kids between 14-18 pay the tickets full-price, and must also have a written parental agreement from their parents/legal representatives;
  • Underage people are not allowed in the VIP area;
  • Underage people cannot consume alcohol;

We’re truly sorry to break this to you, but we won’t allow the access with DSLRs. Or large selfie sticks, for that matter.

Umbrellas, sunbrellas or folding chairs are also prohibited. We care about everybody’s experience and wouldn’t want to hurt people. Find out more about things you should leave at home and things you should remember to pack.

If you’ve got questions of any kind about what’s permitted, what’s frowned upon and what will get you out of the festival, read the extended version of our rules and regulations.

Not all superheroes wear capes. Some build houses for people in need.

This year, we’ve partnered with Casa Share, these amazing people who make the world a better place.

Music Feels Like Home

Goal: €20.000

We’re helping build a house for a family in need.

How Do We Help? A Share for Casa Share

For each share of the AFTERHILLS page post of the Facebook event, we’ll donate an amount of money for this project to turn into reality.

Stay close until we make the event public, and spread the word!

How Can You Help? Donate At The Festival

  1. You’ll recognize the CasaShare house immediately as you enter the festival.
  2. You can donate any amount of money, either through the RFID wristband or in cash.

Not All Heroes Wear Capes

Why Would You Help?

The best journeys in life are shared. You can make a tangible difference in someone’s standard of living with a minimum of effort. Most of the times, fundraisers are more effective when they appeal to a larger number of people who donate small amounts, rather than small numbers of people willing to contribute with larger amounts.

In itself, this fact makes a very important statement about how much change a small gesture can bring.

Dare or be square!

The beauty of a festival lies in people’s freedom to design their own experiences. We believe in creating your own oasis of peace and dreams come true.

This year, be a #dreamer and join the dozens of installations that we’re showcasing during the festival.

Unleash your inner artist and play in our ArtCamp with a series of exhibitions and installations designed especially to turn up the love.

Dare to step into a dynamic art jukebox, where both well-known and emerging artists display their original ideas, to add up to your experience.

Have a heart full of good vibrations and a vision of your own. Make your dreams come true and give a voice to the artist within.

Authentic art is worth celebrating in all its forms. AFTERHILLS proudly introduces the COMEDY Stage, a magical place of improv battles, theatre, and stand-up comedy.

This national premiere is the first step of a consistent attempt to fully diversify the festival experience in Romania.

There’s More To Art Than Meets The Eye

Festivaliers are so different not just because everyone is unique, but because our tastes are shaped by who we are. The aim of this crossover experience is to empower people to live their craziest dreams and to give a voice to their most unusual tastes.

To get there, we must first cover the main art forms that the Romanian public appreciates, and stand-up comedy, contemporary theatrical representations, and improv battles are a significant part of a complete live experience.

Because true #dreamers laugh in their heads just as much as they do out loud, come and enjoy a truly diverse #crossover festival.

The Comedy Stage is a perfect opportunity to diversify our repertoire and to allow people to have unlimited fun of all kinds. The value behind a crossover artistic experience is not having to narrow down the possibilities. Instead, we offer a wide range of activities and performances that celebrate art in all its forms.

From creative sessions to art workshops, there’s nothing you should miss during the #dayfun at AFTERHILLS.

Your holiday deserves to be complete, which is why the festival is designed to offer you dozens of creative activities.

Give a voice to the artist within, or just grab a graffiti spray or a yoga mat and let’s make it memorable.

Diversify Your Festival Fun

Abstract acrylic colors

Festival activities are different and engaging, so that you best enjoy your crossover experience. There are dozens of ways to spend your day, from wall climbing to escape rooms.

Turn the contents of your mind to life. Enjoy a variety of fun festival activities, from land art and painting to sculpture, readymades and pretty much everything else.

Festivals are made for fun, so make your stay here memorable. You don’t have to jump around all day to make sure you’ve lived a complete festival experience.

Au contraire, our friend! You can enjoy every second of your sunny festival days chillin’ on a hammock or sipping beer like a boss in the festival Beer Garden.

Tattooed girl at a festival

Festivals were created as temples of fun. There’s nothing better than good music, close friends, and good vibrations to rule them all.

They are also places of people, huge gatherings where respect has to rule over everything. Despite the impressive numbers of participants, everyone can have the same amount of fun with the appropriate code of conduct.

For everyone to have the same amount of fun, we all have to think of some things.

Don’t do to YOURSELF Don’t do to OTHERS
Don’t wear overalls Don’t forget to smile until it hurts
Don’t do drugs Don’t bring your pet
Don’t bring your own alcohol Don’t bring sunbrellas (or umbrellas)
Don’t bring just one change of clothes Don’t bring weapons or sharp items
Don’t forget your ticket home Don’t bring a DSLR
Don’t forget a jacket Don’t bring bad vibes

We’ve got a few rules to live by, which we recommend reading to everyone attending our 4-day party.

What you leave at home is just as important as the things you take with you. Our main goal in life is to give as many people the opportunity to have some quality fun.

In theory, this is really easy. In practice, it takes lots of planning. That’s why we’re hoping to be all on the same page when it comes to respecting others.

Woman driving to a festival

Holidays are best served prepared. Mindless fun takes careful packing. Make sure you’re not leaving anything out and let’s double the joy!

To help you pick your festival poisons, we’ve put together a list of the most important things to pack.

Bring for YOURSELF

Bring for OTHERS

A funky hat to keep the groove on A tent to keep your dreams safe
Happy sunscreen to get that healthy tan you’ve dreamed of all winter Good mood and happy vibes to start the summer with
Comfy dancing shoes to keep the party going Energy to jump around from dawn till sunrise
The coolest sunglasses A slick sense of humor to make meeting new people great again
Light luggage Your dreams in a bag
Hula hoops Partners in crime to double the thrill
Super-power rain cloaks Kids of all ages to show them how partying is done properly

We think no festival attendee should ever leave home without these things.

Don’t forget to pack in advance. From festival outfits to small items, careful planning makes lives easier.

Make sure to hit a few parties downtown before you come to the festival. Fun marathons take some serious preparation. If you want to party until dawn, this kind of fun takes preparation.
